MOUNT SHASTA

This piece exists in a state of constant motion. Color churns, layers collide, and nothing ever fully settles. It feels contained, but only barely, like pressure building beneath the surface and always on the edge of spilling over.

The work developed through impulse and repetition. Paint was pushed, dragged, poured, and stacked until the surface began to feel alive. Marks overlap like thoughts interrupting one another. Moments of structure appear briefly before dissolving back into chaos. The energy never fully shuts off.

This painting holds humor and instability at the same time. It appears playful on the surface, but tension runs underneath. There is a sense of something always bubbling, always active, always becoming something else.
